Addlestone Moor

About

Addlestone Moor is the home of Abbey Rangers, a club that started in 1976 as a boys' team named after the old Chertsey Abbey and has grown into a senior side in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South. Its community roots are still obvious, with junior pitches alongside the main ground and a busy youth section. The ground is compact and functional, with a couple of small seated stands, hard standing around most of the pitch and floodlights for midweek games. The clubhouse, opened by Sir Trevor Brooking in 2008, has covered seating under its overhang and is where players, parents and supporters gather after the final whistle. This is step-five football at its most approachable: the crowd knows the players, the volunteers know the crowd, and everyone is welcome. A good shout for families in Addlestone, Chertsey and Weybridge.
