Walton Road Stadium

About

Molesey have played at Walton Road since 1953, and the ground has a cosy, lived-in feel. Film fans may recognise it, as scenes from Bend It Like Beckham were shot here. The club now competes in the Combined Counties League Division One. The clubhouse, opened by Sir Stanley Rous in 1960, is the main draw for regulars, with a good choice of reasonably priced drinks, darts and pool, and food such as burgers and chips. It sits outside the ground itself, as alcohol is not allowed pitchside, and there is a tea bar under the main stand for a half-time cuppa. Parking can be tight on busy days, so walking or cycling over from Molesey or Walton makes sense. Expect unfussy, sociable grassroots football with a small claim to silver-screen fame.
