Cirencester's Market Place fills with festive stalls, food and drink, live performances and street entertainment for the town's Advent Market, which runs all day and builds up to the Christmas lights switch-on in the late afternoon. It's one of the busiest days of the year in the capital of the Cotswolds, so arrive early and park legally, as town-centre roads are closed. A lovely day for Christmas shopping.
