The EBB Stadium (Recreation Ground)

About

The Recreation Ground, known to everyone as the Rec and currently sponsored as the EBB Stadium, has hosted football in Aldershot since 1927. It is home to Aldershot Town, the Shots, who play in the National League, the top division of non-league football, and the ground staged Football League matches as recently as 2013. This is a wonderfully traditional ground. The South Stand dates from the late 1920s and is still in use, flanked by open terraces including the home fans' favourite, known as the Slab, while the big barrel-roofed East Bank holds several thousand. Capacity is around 7,100, and the Rec has hosted cup nights against the likes of Manchester United. Just over the Surrey border, it is a straightforward trip from Farnham, Ash and Frimley, and offers senior football with real history and a loyal, noisy following.
