Surrey Sports Park

Surrey Sports Park is the University of Surrey's £36 million sports complex in Guildford, and its 1,000-seat indoor arena is home to the Surrey 89ers, the county's professional men's basketball team. Formed in 2024 to carry on Guildford's long basketball tradition, and named after the year the modern county was created, the Niners compete in Super League Basketball, the top flight of the British game. Game nights are fast, loud and family-friendly, and a great introduction to the sport if you have never seen it live. Beyond basketball, the complex has a 50-metre pool, sports halls, squash courts, a gym, floodlit pitches, a climbing centre and a café, bar and restaurant. For Guildford locals it is a brilliant alternative to a night at the football: top-level sport on the university's Manor Park site, all wrapped up in a couple of hours.
