Tewkesbury's historic town centre is a lovely place to wander, with black-and-white timber-framed buildings, hidden medieval alleys and the great Norman abbey just a short stroll away. Independent shops, cafes and old coaching inns line the High Street and Church Street. The streets fill up for community events through the year, most of all for the Christmas market and lights switch-on.
