The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells

The Pantiles is the elegant heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells: a colonnaded Georgian promenade that grew up around the chalybeate spring that made the town a fashionable spa. Today the shaded walkway is lined with independent boutiques, cafés, wine bars and restaurants, with tables spilling out under the trees in good weather. It's a lovely spot for an unhurried wander, and through the year it hosts markets, live music and seasonal celebrations that make the most of its handsome setting.
