Tonbridge Castle

Tonbridge Castle is one of the finest examples of a Norman motte-and-bailey castle in England, with an imposing 13th-century gatehouse overlooking the River Medway. The grassy grounds and riverside gardens are a favourite spot for picnics and strolls, right on the edge of the town centre. Through the year the castle lawns host festivals and outdoor events, and in the run-up to Christmas they're transformed for a series of festive weekends.
